What can we offer you?

Greetings, student of the Force.

If it is your fate to become a Jedi and learn the ways of the Force, you must possess the willpower to face the difficult path ahead. If you indeed possess that ability, then you are in the right place.

It is our primary duty to teach you and aid you in your goal of becoming a Jedi.

The history of our Order spans hundreds of generations. Over time, we have faced multiple threats of extinction—ranging from the Jedi Civil War to the Sacking of Coruscant, and more recently, the amassing power of the Eternal Empire.

It is the duty of the Jedi to defend and preserve the lives of innocents, even when confronted with great existential threats.

Following the defeat of Exar Kun on the Yavin Moon, Jedi Masters Az’u Fir’al and Arushi Juk discovered the Yavin IV Nexus. Seeking to expand and develop the Jedi Order, the masters were granted permission to build an Academy. Soon after, the Jedi High Council deployed the first five—Nagikonas Tar, Tu Ku, Kyo Laa, Siiie, and Ca-Dui Na—to guide the aspiring new Jedi.

As it was then, so it is today: the path of the Jedi requires sincere commitment, a serious mindset, and strict adherence to the Jedi Code.

Beware—the path to becoming a Jedi is fraught with trials. The challenges ahead may be too daunting for some, while for others, the ever-present temptation of the Dark Side calls. Those who can resist such temptations and successfully overcome their trials will emerge as Jedi.

Perhaps that is where your true destiny lies?

A Unique RolePlay Experience
Becoming a Jedi

At the current moment, Star Wars: The Old Republic offers a total of 12 species.

They are listed as follows:

  • Cathar

  • Chiss

  • Cyborg

  • Human

  • Mirakuka

  • Mirialan

  • Nautolan

  • Rattataki

  • Sith Pureblood

  • Togruta

  • Twi’lek

  • Zabrak

Although these species may seem limiting—especially since Sith Purebloods and Cyborgs are considered rare—it is possible to emulate other species, such as Echani, Arkanian, Sephi, Chalactan, Farghul, and Iridonian, among others.

While Jedi traditionally begin their journeys into the Order as minors, prolonged wars and the Meetra Surik reformation—in which all of her students were adults—have shifted the Order to a point where a Jedi’s training may commence in one’s late teens.

Even though each character has a unique story and background, the path to becoming a Jedi requires one to let go of the past. You must not be bound by your history or lead a dual life in which your Jedi duties come second.

Absolute dedication to the Jedi life is required.

Our current timeline adheres to the official Star Wars: The Old Republic chronology and is set in 30 ATC (After the Treaty of Coruscant). Consequently, characters older than 30 years of age would have been born BTC (Before the Treaty of Coruscant).

Remember that the events of Knights of the Old Republic II take place approximately 300 years before the current events. This grants you a degree of creative freedom, though it is strongly advised to research past events before creating a complex background.

You may find biographical inspiration in our Lost Ones section as well as in our History section, which provides a brief overview of the timeline.

Creating a character can be a lengthy process.

Personality, Jedi paths, species, and rank must all be considered. For a smooth experience, we ask that you refrain from incorporating story elements or personality traits that may conflict or cause confusion.

For example, backgrounds that include being a Sith Pureblood, a child of the Emperor, a member of the Shan family, or possessing skills such as Battle Meditation, Emerald Lightning, or Flow-Walking are considered highly unlikely.

However, if executed well and written beautifully, any concept can be negotiated—though, based on our past experience, this is a rare occurrence.

If necessary, you are welcome to contact the Jedi Council or high-ranking members of the Jedi Academy for assistance during this process.

Embrace this journey, for it is in overcoming adversity that the true strength of a Jedi is revealed.

A Never-Ending Journey

As a new character, you can apply for the following ranks:

  • Initiate

  • Padawan

Please note that if you are applying as an older student, transferring from a Temple—such as Tython—is typically standard. If you are a younger character, a Watchman may have discovered you.

In that case, high-ranking members of the Jedi Academy might become involved; however, this can only be done with their explicit consent.

Once you have completed your character's story, please use the application form available in our Comport (Communications Portal).

In the application form, we focus on your chosen homeworld, species, character's age, and preferred branch (Jedi Guardian, Sentinel, or Consular).

You will also be asked about your character's basic appearance (skin color, eye color, and hair color).

This information helps residents and visitors envision your character.

While the Council deliberates and oversees your RolePlay, you remain a visitor in the Temple and may attend classes and other events open to our students.

More than a Guild

The very essence of the Jedi Academy is RolePlay. We focus on the daily life of the Jedi, striving for regular, meaningful RolePlay.

However, we have a great deal of respect for real life, and RolePlay must never become an obligation. A role-playing community should be enjoyable—not a source of stress.

In the Academy, we offer weekly classes and expect our residents to attend when possible. An updated class curriculum, specifying days and times, will be posted in our events section.

As a guild with a strong focus on RolePlay, we have established our own Jedi Temple, which is located on an elevated structure on the planet of Dac.

The Jedi Academy can be found on the 'Darth Malgus' server on Star Wars: The Old Republic

If you are online and inside the Jedi Temple—whether on temple grounds or aboard the Jedi Cruiser Serenity—you are considered In Character, and Out-of-Character actions are discouraged and should be kept to a minimum.

If we all abide by these guidelines, we will create a unique setting where we can truly immerse ourselves in the world of Star Wars.

Happy Roleplaying!
