Biography
Early Life
Clane Wez lived on Nar Shaddaa with her family. Their parents created a wealthy environment for their children from participating in high-risk high reward operations, while she was taught a variety of technological skills and diplomacy from different friends of the family, along with other basic subjects. The two children were equal in the eyes of their parents, but her older brother was always considered as a first volunteer.
The planet full of skyscrapers didn’t let her experience the rich flora and fauna that the galaxy offers. The texts and images shown to her just wasn’t enough to immerse herself fully into the animal and plant life of other planets and systems.
The parents were away from the house most of the time, sometimes for days. Due to their complicated job, the children took care of themselves.
One day, they received news about their parents not coming back for a while. The brother didn’t hesitate: He took Clane away from their apartment and left the planet for Coruscant. There, a Jedi greeted them, who recognized Clane’s sensitivity and brought her to the nearest Jedi Temple, and the brother joined the military.
In the Order as an Initiate
Although she was excited being in a new, different environment from the circumstances she lived in earlier, but the idea of a new beginning left some fear in her.
Days later she began her Jedi training. While others were hanging around, she didn’t partake in their activities; she just watched them having fun, while her mind being busy with thoughts away from the current moment. For days, she kept social distance from the other students, but overtime she adapted to her surroundings, though she avoided interacting with her new family individually.
She found herself home on the training grounds while her fellow mates visited other parts of the academy, however, she didn’t leave behind other important sources of knowledge, she actively participated in some form of learning experience.
One Knight of the Order closely observed her activities, and paid more attention to her on some lessons rather than taking care of the students equally. It was Dask, who volunteered to oversee her Initiate trials when they had come. Despite having little problems in some elements, she passed the tests with confidence. Not soon after Dask took Clane as his Padawan.
A Padawan’s Life
Dask concentrated the training of Clane around martial art based on her previous activities and skills, despite the Jedi Council advising differently. This seemingly marked the path of the young Jedi.
She practised different approaches to situations that she and her Master were sent to. These tasks were not easy to handle, but the Master let her unfold her taught skills during the missions, allowing them to improve. Although these operations were oriented to one specific teaching of the Jedi, Clane managed to stay true to all when she could. However, this changed overtime, partially neglecting other subjects thanks to Dask’s influence.
The turning point of her journey was at the age of 17, where she was sent to a solo mission where she had the opportunity to utilize all learnt expertise. Her target was a Sith Apprentice who had been sabotaging the Republic’s work on the war fronts with various dangerous expeditions. The young Sith operated his business on an abandoned jungle planet, his base was located near plain fields, forest surrounding the facility.
As the stealthy shuttle broke through the clouds, heavy rain poured down the windshield. The foggy weather didn’t help the landing sequence, nor the computers inside the ship going wild. A lightning strike hit the shuttle’s wing, the emergency landing wasn’t the smoothest to say the least, but she managed to recover quickly, and surveyed the area while continuing with her mission in the heavy rain through the jungle.
The thunders and lightning accompanied her throughout the way to the facility. When she got there, the darkness distracted her mind, but she went on regardless. Inside, the silence was too big to disregard its presence, so she proceeded with care. The lack of electricity and light boosted the risk of being caught, but she didn’t want to report back empty handed, not to hear her Master’s disappointment. As she moved further she got ambushed by all sides, leaving her no chance but to give herself up to the Sith.
Days passed by since her capture. The dim light of the sun covered by the grey clouds flowed into the prison cell’s small window with lightnings visible in the background. Each day she was put through questioning and interrogation by the Sith themself, the pressure he put on her was high and exhaustive. At nights, she was tormented by nightmares about her family, especially her parents, and her childhood on Nar Shaddaa.
The heavy storms continued throughout the week. One day, the cell’s door was opened by Dask, ready to get her out from the facility, which became more of a fortress overtime. The Republic faced serious resistance on their rescue mission, and they knew they couldn’t leave without a sacrifice. Dask sent Clane forward while he and his forces covered her from behind. Outside, finding the Republic’s shuttles inoperative, she ran into the forest, as far as she could go, away from the fight…
Days had passed since she escaped. She hadn’t heard from the Republic, but the Empire wasn’t active either. She never got back to the fortress, the attempt escaping the reality was just easier for her. In the sleepless nights, the last days’ decisions were going through her mind over and over, the haunting thoughts didn’t leave her.
A few days later, she discovered an outpost from where she could return to the academy.
The Present and the Future
Years passing, she barely made any progress in her training. Ultimately, she was placed to a new academy, called Solaris. There, she was no longer afraid of a new beginning, but she wasn’t excited either. She made friends with the ones she have met there easier, and she greatly improved on her social skills. While patiently waiting for a new Master, she took on a variety of operation that helped the cause of the Jedi.
After a mission, a Jedi Master recognized her potential to work on and improve on her abilities and skills. This Jedi was no other than Carsus Hillbrand, a Master of the Order. In their time at Solaris, they both worked hard, doing their duties. But they also had private lessons, practises and trainings together, which eventually connected them together.
After their mutual agreement on leaving Solaris behind, they continued their journey in The Jedi Academy…
