The Crystal of Munori

An artifact of profound significance to the Jedi Order, the Crystal of Ashla, also known as the Crystal of Munori, is a legendary Kyber crystal, said to be imbued with centuries of wisdom, leadership, and the unshakable light of the Force.

More than just a relic, it has served as a symbol of rightful rule, passed down through generations of Jedi leaders who upheld balance, guidance, and protection within the Order.

Origins and Early History

The crystal’s origins are shrouded in mystery, but the earliest records trace it back to the ancient Munori Order, a sect of Jedi philosophers who sought deep communion with the Force. It is said that the crystal resonated with the very essence of Ashla, the ancient name for the light side of the Force.

Legends claim that when the Munori Order fell, the crystal was hidden away, waiting for a worthy guardian to carry its legacy forward.

In 5899 BBY, it was gien to the Wookiee Jedi Master Sharranta, a sage warrior known for her wisdom and unwavering commitment to the Jedi Code. She safeguarded the crystal, believing it to be a tool for enlightenment rather than a weapon. Upon her passing, it was entrusted to the Neti Jedi Az’u Fir’al, the founder of the Jedi Academy on Yavin IV.

The Yavin IV Lineage

Az’u Fir’al recognized the crystal’s significance and upheld the tradition of passing it only to Jedi of exceptional wisdom and leadership. When the time came, she bequeathed it to Grand Master Soo Laa, a revered Twi’lek Jedi who upheld the ideals of peace and stability.

By 3647 BBY, the crystal found its final known wielder—Kinaya Jikiiti. A powerful yet compassionate leader, she embodied the very principles that the crystal had come to represent. It was said that when she ignited her lightsaber, the crystal emitted a serene, almost harmonic hum, resonating with the will of the Force itself.

The Lost Legacy

The Destruction of the Yavin IV Academy (3637 BBY) marked the crystal’s tragic disappearance. When Kinaya Jikiiti made her last stand against the Zakuul forces, she wielded the Crystal of Ashla in defense of her home. However, when her blade was recovered, the crystal was missing. Whether it was destroyed, taken as a trophy, or hidden away once more, none can say.

Since then, Jedi scholars and seekers have scoured the galaxy for the lost crystal, believing that its reappearance would herald the rise of a new age of enlightenment within the Order. Yet, as time passed, it faded into legend—a symbol of those who ruled not by power, but by wisdom.

To this day, the Jedi who once walked Yavin IV speak of the Crystal of Ashla with reverence, a whisper of a past that shaped their destiny—a legacy of light waiting to be found once more.
