Description

Rajkot Varanasi’s name was once whispered across the swoop tracks of the Outer Rim—first as a prodigy, then as a legend. A Cathar with an instinctive feel for speed and an unshakable confidence, she carved a path through the racing circuits with unmatched precision.

Crowds adored her, rivals feared her, and she lived for the roar of engines and the pulse of the race. But beneath the fame and the dust of the track, the Force stirred within her, unnoticed for years.

Biography

The Late Discovery

Unlike most Jedi, who were taken in as infants, Rajkot’s connection to the Force went unnoticed well into her teens. Whether it was sheer luck or something more, she had slipped past the gaze of Jedi seekers, growing up outside the Order’s reach. Instead, she honed her reflexes in the dangerous world of swoop racing, where split-second decisions meant the difference between victory and a fiery crash.

It wasn’t until she was nearly an adult—already a champion racer—that she was discovered. A Jedi Knight, watching her from the sidelines of a high-stakes tournament, saw what others dismissed as mere talent: the way she moved, her uncanny ability to predict the flow of the race, the way danger seemed to slip past her at the last possible moment. The Force was strong in her, and against all odds, the Order offered her a chance to train.

Rajkot was torn. She had spent her entire life defining herself as a racer. The idea of giving up that life to start over as a Jedi initiate felt impossible. And yet, there was something in the way they spoke of the Force—of purpose, of destiny—that called to her. Against her better judgment, she walked away from the circuits and made her way to Yavin IV.

Struggles as an Initiate

Rajkot’s transition into Jedi life was anything but smooth. The Temple on Yavin IV was no ordinary academy—it was still young, still finding its place among the stars. Rajkot, already set in her ways, struggled to conform. Meditation bored her, diplomacy frustrated her, and the rigid structure of Jedi discipline chafed against everything she had ever known.

What she did excel at, however, was movement. Combat training, lightsaber drills, piloting—anything that let her act rather than reflect came naturally. Instructors marveled at her reflexes, her ability to predict an opponent’s moves before they even made them. But her defiance of tradition—her unwillingness to submit fully to Jedi doctrine—made it clear she was not an ideal student.

Even so, there were whispers that a master might take her as a Padawan. Some saw potential in her raw talent, while others doubted she would ever let go of her past. But before her fate could be decided, the galaxy made the choice for her.

The Fall of the Temple

When the Eternal Empire of Zakuul descended upon Yavin IV, the Jedi were unprepared. The Temple, still young, lacked the fortifications of Ossus or Coruscant. The assault was swift, brutal, and overwhelming. Rajkot fought alongside the others, using every ounce of her skill to survive, but it wasn’t enough.

As the Temple fell, as her fellow Jedi were scattered or captured, Rajkot made a choice. She saw no future for herself in the ruins of Yavin IV, no reason to keep fighting for an Order that had never truly been hers.

So she ran.

She didn’t just flee the battlefield—she left the Jedi behind entirely.

Return to the Circuit

The swoop tracks welcomed her back like she had never left. The moment she revved an engine again, it felt like home. Her disappearance had made her a legend, and when she returned, she was larger than life. Some whispered that she had been off-world training with a secret racing syndicate.

Others claimed she had spent years in exile, perfecting her technique in the lawless fringes of the Outer Rim.

Rajkot never corrected the rumors.

With the Jedi Order in shambles and the galaxy in turmoil, she threw herself back into the world she knew best. She raced. She won. She made a fortune and burned through it just as fast. And when people asked if she had ever really trained with the Jedi, she would smirk and say, “If I did, I clearly made the wrong choice.”

Legacy of a Lost Jedi

Rajkot Varanasi’s name still lingers in two very different worlds. In the racing circuits, she remains a legend, a champion whose instincts defied logic. In Jedi circles, she is a cautionary tale—the Initiate who walked away, the warrior who turned her back on destiny.

And yet, those who know her best suspect the story isn’t over. They say that sometimes, in the dead of night, when the crowds have gone and the engines have cooled, Rajkot sits alone in the cockpit of her swoop, staring at the stars.

And perhaps, just for a moment, she wonders what might have been.
